I’m Michael Bennington from Active Architecture. I specialize in small to medium residential projects. Typically, in a set of drawings, you only get individual 2D details, which makes it difficult to see the bigger picture. BIM (Building Information Modeling) changes that by allowing you to view everything in 3D, giving you a comprehensive view from all angles, not just specific details.
For example, with this house, there was an existing hip roof with flat sides, and we needed to connect a low-sloped roof to it. The interface between these two elements was difficult to visualize from 2D details alone. However, I sent Kane the 3D model, and it allowed him to understand how everything would fit together much more clearly.
What I really appreciate about working with Kane and BIM Projects is that he already understands the importance of BIM in the building process. Unlike some builders, who may not prioritize its use, Kane insists on utilizing it early on, which is when BIM truly proves its value.
