Having learnt his craft in the traditional ways of home renovations in Wellington, during a successful and sometimes eventful carpentry apprenticeship in the early 2000’s, Kane recognised a need for real change in the industry. After spending many years in both New Zealand construction and the United Kingdom construction industry abroad, Kane conceived a way to shake things up upon his return and in 2019 with a strong vision in mind, BIM Projects was born.

We are determined to change the status quo. We are on a mission to bring current outdated New Zealand construction methods into the 21st century by providing our clients with a seamless, more efficient, cost-effective, end to end home building experience with a strong focus on utilising building information modelling (BIM).

The weight of the everyday Kiwi homeowners toolbelt is far too heavy and without the right tools to manage home building projects, delivering consistent outcomes exceeding or even meeting client expectations has become very challenging. And we are still seeing it today, too many residential projects blowout on multiple fronts, client budgets balloon, construction works onsite take far longer than it should and ultimately homeowners are left frustrated, out of pocket and dissatisfied. Most of the time through no fault of their own. Whether it’s an unreliable, adhoc supply chain (or lack thereof during COVID), persistent sub-trade delays or the good old chestnut; the plans and specifications showing something different to what the homeowner has envisaged or expected.

At the core of our approach is the use of modern technologies, such as 3D BIM modelling to streamline client design, pre construction, project costs and site management services making the building process more efficient and ultimately saving you time and hard earned money. This innovative approach is also catching the attention of Architects and Quantity Surveyors who are now more often than not choosing to adopt BIM modelling practices for the known accuracy, efficiency and benefits a BIM approach provides.
