In 2021, BIM Projects Ltd had the privilege of delivering a striking architectural new build in Aotea, Porirua. Designed in collaboration with Generate Architecture and our forward-thinking clients, this high-spec family home showcases modern design, premium materials, and meticulous attention to detail—culminating in a residence that balances form, function, and long-term livability.
Project Overview
This four-bedroom, three-bathroom home includes an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living spaces, as well as a dedicated bar area—ideal for both everyday living and entertaining. The clients’ vision was clear from the outset: a home that maximised the stunning views of Te Awarua-o-Porirua Harbour and the South Pacific Ocean, while incorporating clean, contemporary lines and durable materials.
Design & Construction
The home’s structure features high-performance insulated timber framing, wrapped in low-maintenance Colorsteel cladding. To soften the modern exterior, Herman Pacific Siberian Larch weatherboards were used strategically, adding warmth and texture to the façade. The entryway is anchored by a beautifully crafted Parkwood cedar front door, setting the tone for the high standard of finish throughout.
A standout element of the design is the use of full-height glazing and gabled framing in the main living areas, perfectly framing the panoramic coastal views while enhancing the home’s street appeal.
